Emmy Destinn

Emmy Destinn (1878-1930) was a Czech opera singer. She was Salome in Richard Strauss's opera, in the Berlin premiere (5 December 1906) as well as in the Paris premiere (8 May 1907), in both cases under the baton of the composer. In 1907 she recorded two short excerpts from Salome's apostrophe to Jochanaan.
