Edwin George Monk (1819-1900) was a British librettist. Born De­cem­ber 13, 1819 at Som­er­set [Eng­land] and a pupil of George Alexander Macfarren, he worked as librettist, composer and Master of Music. Monk died Jan­u­a­ry 3, 1900 at Rad­ley (near Oxford) [Eng­land].
