Eduard Wilhelm Eugen Reuss

Eduard Wilhelm Eugen Reuss / Édouard Guillaume Eugène Reuss (1804-1891) was a French German scholar. Born in Strasbourg [France], he studied Theology at Göttingen [Germany] under Johann Gottfried Eichhorn, and Oriental languages at Halle under Wilhelm Gesenius, and afterwards at Paris under Antoine Isaac Silvestre de Sacy (1827-28). As a Professor at the Faculté protestante de Strasbourg, from 1838 to 1888, he significantly contributed to the knowledge of German Scholarship in France. For many years he edited with A. H. Cunitz the Beiträge zu den theologischen Wissenschaften. He died in Strasbourg in 1891.
