De verbo mirifico <Latin> (1494) is a book by Johannes Reuchlin.

Abstract

In the treatise, Reuchlin refers directly to the existence of a book of Enoch. The association with the books of Solomon seems to suggest some vague knowledge of Ethiopic traditions, as in Ethiopia the book of Enoch frequently appears in manuscripts next to books attributed to Solomon. Reuchlin may have derived this piece of information from the Ethiopian pilgrims who in 1479 under Sixtus IV had settled in Rome at the church of St. Stephen of Abyssinians. Reuchlin visited Rome in 1482, 1490 and later, in 1498. From De arte cabalistica (1517 Reuchlin), book, it is apparent that Reuchlin believed Giovanni Pico della Mirandola had access to the "lost" Book of Enoch (while more likely, Pico only knew some cabalistic traditions on Enoch).
