Das Lied des Lammes <German> (1723) is an oratorio by Johann Mattheson (mus.) and Christian Heinrich Postel (libr.).

Abstract

Second major Passion oratorio by Mattheson, who has already set to music a version of the Bruckes-Passion in 1718.

Editions, performances

Premiered in Hamburg, Germany, 1723.

Printed score. The ms. preserved in the Hamburg Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek, was destroyed during World War II. A photostatic copy of the autograph however survived and was first published in 1971, edited by Beekman C. Cannon.
