Conrad Pellicanus (1478-1556) was a German scholar, theologian, humanist, Hebraist, and professor of Hebrew and Greek at Zurich. In 1503 composed the first Hebrew grammar in an European tongue. In 1526 Huldrych Zwingli appointed him professor of Hebrew and Greek at Zurich. Applied his vast knowledge of rabbinical and Talmudic text to the study of the Bible.
