Abstract

An updated version of Oscar Wilde's Salome, in a contemporary setting.

Herod is a Neapolitan boss who runs The Last Emperor, a disreputable place, and Herodias is his kinky companion. Salome is a young, immature and beautiful girl, desired by many men including her stepfather Herod. John is a protester held in captivity by the friends of Herod; he begins to read the sacred texts to the point of losing his senses becoming "the prophet".
