Julius Rudel (M / Austria, United States, 1921-2014), conductor.

Born in Vienna, Austria, he emigrated with his family to the United States at the age of 17 in 1938 after the country was annexed by Germany. In his long career he was the music director of the New York City Opera and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, while serving internationally as a conductor. In 1979 he conducted in Madrid the performance and video recording of Salome with Montserrat Caballé.
