Frank G. Yerby (1916-1991) was an African-American novelist, who in 1955 moved to live in Spain. Author of many successful historical novels and first African-American to publish a best-seller with The Foxes of Harrow (1946). In 1955 left the United States for Spain in protest against racial discrimination.
