Berl Lazarus (M / Germany, 1942), Holocaust survivor

Biography

Berl Lazarus was born May 21, 1942 in Berlin, Germany, to Martin and Herta Lazarus.

Both his parents died in Auschwitz. In June 1943 he was sent to Theresienstadt, where he remained for two and a half years until Liberation in May 1945.

After the war he was sent to England with the Windermere Children. When he was 17, his aunt and uncle, both also Holocaust survivors, discovered he was alive, brought him to the United States and adopted him.
