Antonio Bosio (1575-1629) was an Italian scholar and archaeologist. Devoted his entire life to the first systematic investigation of the Roman catacombs, the existence of which had just been accidentally rediscovered in 1578. Not only explored a forgotten world, but also established a new field, that of Christian archaeology.
