Antonino Barcellona (1726-1805) was an Italian scholar. Born in Palermo [Italy] on November 22, 1726, joined the Congregazione dell'Oratorio di S. Filippo Neri. Studied theology, mathematics, physics, architecture, and archaeology, specializing in the knowledge of ancient languages (Greek and Hebrew). Was librarian and teacher of Church History, and one of the pioneering figures in Italy in the field of Biblical Studies. Died in Palermo [Italy] on May 5, 1805.
