Annotationes in Novum Testamentum <Latin> / Annotations on the New Testament (1641-1650) is a book by Hugo Grotius.

Abstract

This work marks a major step forward in post-Reformation exegetical studies of the New Testament. Grotius sought here to study the simple literal meaning of the texts, based on the principle that the individual books of the New Testament could best be understood in their respective historical contexts, even if he was not always successful in his attempts to identify those contexts. Besides referring to patristic exegesis, parallels from Greek and Roman literature are also cited.
