Androcles and the Lion (1938) is a British TV production (sound, B&W, 60m) of Androcles and the Lion (1912 Shaw), play, produced by Desmond Davis.

Abstract

Story of Androcles, a Christian slave in ancient Rome who befriends a lion.

First BBC production of Shaw's play. Davis himself would directed it again in 1946 and 1951, with different casts.
