Abstract

Written in non-technical language to appeal to a broader audience, Metzger’s Introduction to the Apocrypha provides both a concise yet comprehensive introduction to each book in the Apocrypha, and a broader apologetic for why Christians ought to acquaint themselves with this literature. he later chapters, in particular, highlight the Apocrypha’s influence upon the New Testament and Early Church Fathers, as well as its lasting influence in Western culture.
