Alexander Buttmann (1813-1893) was a German NT scholar and classical philologist. A teacher in a secondary school in Potsdam, edited several editions of a Greek grammar first authored by his father, Philipp Buttmann (1764-1829). In the process, he got interested in the particularities of NT Greek, highlighting the difference between classical Greek and NT Greek.
