Adam Heller was born June 25, 1933 in Cluj, Romania. He arrived in Switzerland aboard the Kastner Train in December 1944, after spending some months in Bergen-Belsen.

After the war, the family moved to Israel. Adam studied Chemical Engineering at the Hebrew University. He then worked in the United States as a professor at the University of Texas at Austin.
