Ulrich Jasper Seetzen, A Brief Account of the Countries Adjoining the Lake of Tiberias, the Jordan, and the Dead Sea (Bath: Meyler & Son; and London: Hatchard, 1810).

Abstract

Ulrich Jasper Seetzen traveled to the Land of Israel from April 1808 to March 1809. His report was published in 1810 by the Palestine Association of London.

Seetzen died in 1811, murdered while he was trying to reach Petra. Its work inspired other travelers and raised interest for the beginning of modern Biblical Archaeology.
