Asta Nielsen (1881–1972) was a Danish actress, who had an intense career in silent films. She was Mary Magdalene in I.N.R.I. (Crown of Thorns / 1923 Wiene), feature film, with her husband Gregori Chmara playing the role of Jesus of Nazareth.
