Roland de Vaux (1903-1970) was a French scholar.

Biography

Domenican priest. From 1934 until his death lived in Jerusalem at the Ecole Biblique. Led the excavation of Qumran (1951-56) and the study of the manuscripts. One of the major supporters of the Essene Hypothesis.
