In 12 CE [[Augustus]] appointed Annius Rufus to succeed [[:Category:Ambivulus (subject)|Marcus Ambivulus]] as the Roman Prefect of Judea. No noticeable event is recorded during Rufus' tenure, except the death of the Emperor in Rome in 14 CE. The following year, in 15 CE, the new Emperor [[Tiberius]] appointed [[:Category:Gratus (subject)|Valerius Gratus]] to take Rufus' place.
