Annius Rufus was the Roman governor of Judea, from 12 CE to 15 CE, under Emperors Augustus and Tiberius.
Biography
In 12 CE Annius Rufus succeeded Marcus Ambivulus as the Roman Prefect of Judea. No noticeable event is recorded during his tenure, except the death of Emperor Augustus in Rome in 14 CE. The following year, in 15 CE, the new Emperor Tiberius appointed Valerius Gratus to take Rufus' place.
