Joachim Jeremias (1900-1979) was a German scholar.

Biography

Born in Dresden, Germany, spent his formative years in Jerusalem. Professor at Göttingen from 1935 to 1968. Focused on historical, archaeological and literary data for the reconstruction on the Jewish environment in which Jesus lived.
