Among the 54 Jews confined at Enego, Vicenza, were two little girls from Austria, Vera (b.1930) and Evi (b.1934), and a baby girl, Rosetta Recher, who was born (1942) in the nearby hospital at Bassano del Grappa. The three families arrived as refugees at Spalato and were then sent to Enego.

The Steinhardt and Reicher families arrived as refugees at Spalato and were then sent to Enego. The Horowitz family was part of the [[Benghasi Group]], and they had been in [[Ferramonti]], and other localities before arriving at Enego.


Together they fled after the German occupation on 17 Sep 1943. Davide Reichter was born in Abruzzo on 28 Oct 43. His father was arrested and perished at the Fosse Ardeatine. The rest of the company eventually reached southern Italy and the DP camp at Santa Maria al Bagno, Lecce in 1944.

Among the 54 Jews confined at Enego, Vicenza, were two little girls from Austria, Vera Steinhardt (b.1930) and Evi Horowitz (b.1934), and a baby girl, Rosetta Reicher, who was born (1942) in the nearby hospital at Bassano del Grappa. The Steinhardt and Reicher families arrived as refugees at Spalato and were then sent to Enego. The Horowitz family was part of the Benghasi Group, and they had been in Ferramonti, and other localities before arriving at Enego.

Together they fled after the German occupation on 17 Sep 1943. Davide Reicher was born in Abruzzo on 28 Oct 43. His father was arrested and perished at the Fosse Ardeatine. The rest of the company eventually reached southern Italy and the DP camp at Santa Maria al Bagno, Lecce in 1944.

+ Rosetta Reicher (F / Poland / Italy, 1942), Holocaust survivor + Davide Reicher (M / Poland / Italy, 1943), Holocaust survivor Rifugiatisi a Spalato, Dalmatia furono confinati a Enego, Vicenza nel nov 1941, dove nel vicino ospedale di Bassano del Grappa nasce Rosetta (8 Jan 42). Dopo l'8 sett. la famiglia fugge in direzione sud il 17 sett 1943. Davide nasce a Penne (28 Oct 43), Pescara. Pochi mesi dopo, il padre (Marian Reicher) e' arrestato (morira' nell'eccidio delle Fosse Ardeatine il 24 marzo 1944). La madre (Ethel Drohobiez) con i due bambini riesce a sopravvivere. La ritroviamo con i bambini nel campo profughi di Santa Maria al Bagno, Lecce. Nel mese di marzo del 1945 la famiglia superstite si trasferì in Israele a bordo della Princess Kathleen (in partenza da Taranto), stabilendosi a Tel Aviv. Rosetta (Shoshana) muore nel 1990.

STEINHARDT Vera (Eva), di Ivo e di Freudenfel Berta, nata a Zagabria il 15.08(09).1931. Studentessa. Di nazionalità croata. Tradotta da Fiume a Vicenza il 25 novembre 1941. Il 15 marzo 1943 fa richiesta di emigrazione avendo ottenuto il visto per l’Equador, ma la domanda non è accolta. Si allontana dal comune di internamento il 17 settembre 1943. Nel 1945 risulta a Santa Maria al Bagno (LE)
