The Poor Student (1918) is a play by Elma Ehrlich Levinger.

Abstract

Juvenile literature. “A story of the boy Hillel.” Tells of the great zeal of young Hillel for learning; the scene is a lecture room in an academy at Jerusalem at the time of King Herod.

First published in the journal The Jewish Child (6, 1918); reprinted in the volume Entertaining Programs for the Assembly, by the Department of Synagogue and School Extension of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations (Cincinnati 1930).
