The Hammer (1890) is a children's novel by Alfred John Church.

Abstract

A tale of Palestine in the times of Antiochus Epiphanes and the Maccabees. There are descriptions of the battles of Bethhoron, Emmaus, etc., and the cleansing of the Temple of Jerusalem. The story ends with the death of Judas Maccabeus.
