Ancient Rage (1995) is a novel by Mary Lee Wile.

Abstract

A dialogue between Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist, and Mary of Nazareth, the mother of Jesus, on the meaning of their sons' deaths. Elizabeth is bitter, as God informed Zacharias rather than her that her son would be a prophet, and accuses Jesus of betrayal, as he did not raise John from the dead as he did with Lazarus. Mary explains the necessity in the light of Jesus' mission.
