Herod the Great (1672) is a play by Roger Boyle.
Abstract
Boyle drew inspiration from Josephus in writing this drama, but a series of misfortunes prevented him from either producing or publishing it. The Theatre Royal was gutted by fire just before his play was due to appear, and the subsequent staging of Herod and Mariamne (1673 Pordage), play made Boyle's play superfluous.
