James Parkes (1896-1981) was a British scholar, theologian, historian, and pioneer of Jewish-Christian dialogue. Graduated with a degree in Theology from Hertford College, Oxford in 1923. Ordained as a priest in 1926. Dedicated himself to the study of, and fight against, Anti-Semitism. Second Temple Judaism was at the center of his interest as the cradle of both the Church and the Synagogue, and therefore also of their conflicts.
