James H. Charlesworth (b.1940) is an American scholar, Professor at Princeton Theological Seminary (Princeton, NJ), USA.

Biography

James H. Charlesworth received an A.B. from Ohio Wesleyan University, a B.D. from Duke Divinity School, a Ph.D. from Duke Graduate School, and an advanced degree from the École Biblique de Jérusalem. He has been on the faculty of Duke University, the Universität Tübingen, and The Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel. Since 1984, he has been the George L. Collord Professor of New Testament Language and Literature at Princeton Theological Seminary.

He is the Director of PTS's Dead Sea Scrolls Project and founding member of the Enoch Seminar.
