The Bible in Amharic (1886, Abraham or Abu Rumi) translated and edited. The Translation took place at the beginning of the 19th century. It was done by an Ethiopian monk who was taken and assisted by the French Vice-Consul in Cairo.

This commentary differs from most of the Ethiopian traditional commentaries because it also contains elements from Jewish commentaries. The editor had access to rabbinical literature.
