Originally commissioned by the Scuola Grande di San Marco in Venice [Italy], the gigantic painting (oil on canvas, 347x770cm) was initiated in 1504 by [[Gentile Bellini]]. At his death in 1507, it was completed by his brother [[Giovanni Bellini]].
