The work is relevant for [[Second Temple Studies]] and [[Enochic Studies]] as it contains the so-called [[Enoch Fragments of Syncellus]], which until the end of the 18th century were the only textual evidence of the "lost" [[1 Enoch|Book of Enoch]].

==Editions ==

The text widely circulated in manuscript form, and was first published as a whole in 1562 by [[Jacques Goar]]. The [[Enoch Fragments of Syncellus]] were first printed in 1606 by [[Joseph Justus Scaliger]].
