==Abstract==
Tells the experience of Paul, from his youth as a sixteen-year-old student at Jerusalem until his conversion and return to Tarsus (part one), and from the beginning of his missionary activity until his death (part two).

==Editions and translations==
Written in German in two parts, was first published in English, translated by Clarissa Graves. The second part was published first: [[The Tentmaker (1951 Berstl), novel (English ed.)]]; the first part followed, [[The Cross and the Eagle (1954 Berstl), novel (English ed.)]]. The German edition appeared only in the 1960s in Germany (Stuttgart: Quell, 1965).
