S. Scott Bartchy (b.1936) is an American NT scholar. PhD (1971) from Harvard Divinity School (where he studied with Helmut Koester, Krister Stendahl, Glen Bowersock, and John Strugnell). Professor (1981-) of Christian Origins and the History of Religion in the Department of History, University of California, Los Angeles.
