Biography
Paul (Pavel, Paolo) Grin (Gruen) was born in 1938 in Belgrade, Serbia, to Aleksander (Alassandro) Grin (Gruen) and Dusanka (Grushenka) Katic. They were imprisoned as refugees at KZ Kavaja, Albania, under Italian rule, where they lived relatively safe. In 1941 they were sent to Ferramonti and then in 1942 to KZ Urbania (near Pesaro), Italy. They survived in hiding from 1943 until liberation. In July 1944 they went to Fort Ontario, United States. On May 31, 1945 father departed for Yugoslavia.
