Biography
Moniek Baumel was born January 6, 1931 in Demblin-Irena, near Lublin, Poland. He was the youngest of the seven children of Lajzer and Sara.

Separated from his father, Moniek was selected to work at KZ Czestochowa and was then taken to Buchenwald in January 1945. He endured the ‘death march’ to Theresienstadt where he was liberated in May 1945.
