John Bale

John Bale (1495-1563) was a British playwright. Besides writing plays of biblical subject, in 1559 he popularized Guillaume Postel's claim that the "lost" book of Enoch was preserved in Ethiopia as a canonical scripture "in the Queen of Sheba's archives".
