Johann Leonhard Hug (1765-1846), scholar

Johann Leonhard Hug (1765-1846) was a German biblical scholar and Roman Catholic priest. In 1791, two years after his ordination, he became professor of Old Testament at the University of Freiburg and the following year Professor of New Testament--field to which he would devote most of his work.
