Biography

Ivan Polak was the son of Jaroslav (b. 2/2/1884) and Sofie (b. 8/1/1898) Polak. He was born on August 14, 1929. After his deportation to Theresienstad, Ivan lived in a children's barracks in Q-609 where he was the editor-in-chief of the children's publication Kamarad. He and his parents were deported to Auschwitz Birkenau on October 12, 1944 and Ivan died in Dachau on January 19, 1945.
