Abstract
The first TV adaptation of Alcott's novel for NBC-TV was based on the 1912 Broadway play written by Marian de Forest. It chronicled the lives of the March sisters (Jo, Meg, Amy, and Beth) in Concord, Massachusetts, during the 19th century. The live broadcast was not recorded.
