Early Judaism and Its Literature is a book series of published by the Society of Biblical Literature.

History

The Early Judaism and Its Literature (EJL) series publishes works on the history, culture, and literature of Second Temple Judaism, including Hellenistic Jewish authors, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and Jewish apocrypha and pseudepigrapha. Work on rabbinic literature that deals with Second Temple Judaism will also be considered.

The SBL Press EJL editorial board is led by series editor Rodney A. Werline (Barton College) and includes the following members:

Abstract

The series "publishes works on the history, culture, and literature of Second Temple Judaism, including Hellenistic Jewish authors, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and Jewish Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha. Work on rabbinic literature that deals with Second Temple Judaism are also be considered."
