D. Moody Smith (1931-2016), American scholar

D. Moody Smith (1931-2016) was an American NT scholar. After earning his PhD from Yale University, D. Moody Smith began his teaching career at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio. In 1965 he joined the Faculty of Duke University where he taught in the Divinity School as well as the Graduate Program in Religion and (from 1987) was director of Graduate Studies in Religion, until his retirement in 2001.
