According to Jewish (and Islamic) traditions, Caleb was a Jewish warrior of Kenizzite origin at the time of the Exodus and the Conquest of the Land.

Overview

Caleb was the son of the Kenizzite Jephunneh, who apparently had joined the people of Israel.

Caleb is listed as one of the Twelve Spies sent to explore the Land of Canaan. He and Joshua were the only ones to give a positive report. They won the right to enter the land and Caleb received Hebron as his inheritance.
