Biography
Max (1929) and Alfred (23 Jun 1931) Schindler were born in Cottbus, Germany. In 1938 they were deported to Poland. After the German occupation, they experiences several labor camps: Flossenburg, Mielec, Wieliczka, Plaszow, KZ Dresden. They ended up in Theresienstadt, where they were liberated in May 1945. In August 1945 they joined the Windermere Children in their way to England. They emigrated to the USA in 1951. Max married Ruska Schwartz, a fellow Holocaust survivor who had come to England in February-March 1946 with the Belgicka Children.
