Alexander Frischwasser

Biography

Alexander Frischwasser (Alex Waters, 3 Jan 1927) was born in Vienna, Austria, to Schulin and Mathilde. He was a refugee in France at Chateau de La Guette. After a first failed attempt, he succeeded in being accepted as a refugee in Switzerland in September 1943, by having his birthdate changed on records in order to appear younger than sixteen.

Back to France, Alex reunited with his father, who also had survived the war. His mother and brother, however, had been killed in Poland during a ghetto liquidation. They eventually emigrated to the United States.

Alex Waters passed away in Kirkland, WA in 2006.
