Abstract
In thought provoking and experimental fashion, Gaston goes against the common Christian exegetical tradition which argues that Paul abrogated the Torah and attacked Judaism. Instead, Gaston offers a fresh study on Paul, proposing that the apostle never fought against Judaism or Israel but that his message was solely addressed to Gentiles. Gaston thinks that Paul's message comes close to the two covenant theology of certain modern thinkers such as Rosenzweig, insisting that for Paul there was a righteousness made available to the Gentiles through the faithfulness of Christ, while the righteousness from the covenantal Torah continued to remain valid for Israel. What Paul held against his Jewish contemporaries was that they refused to recognize the eschatological age which had been ushered in by Christ which allowed for Gentiles to share in the same benefits of election as Israelites without having to observe the Torah.
Proclaiming the Messiah: The Life and Letters of Paul of Tarsus Envoy to the Nations (1997) is a book by Hugh J. Schonfield.

Abstract
In this colorful and imaginative biographical work on Paul, published posthumously, Schonfield depicted in a semi-novelistic fashion the life of Paul from his youth to his fatal end in Rome. Schofield avoided focusing on the theological ideas of Paul and prefered to look at the social, political, and psychological elements which shaped the complex personality of the apostle to the Gentiles. Schonfield also provided his own translation of the Pauline letters which he rearranged according to a reconstructed chronological order.--Isaac W. Oliver
Schonfield was also interested in archaeology, Christian origins, as well as the Dead Sea Scrolls. His best-known work was the controversial Passover Plot, a popular work which is said to have even influenced John Lennon of the Beatles.
Abstract
Schoeps provides a comprehensive study on Paul, focusing on Paul's teaching about eschatology, soteriology, law, and saving-history. Schoeps appreciates the imprint of mystery cults upon Paul's thinking, but believes the best way to understand Paul is by looking at his Hellenized Jewish Diasporic context. Scheops also takes into consideration Paul's "Palestinian-Judaic" background, arguing that Paul employed rabbinic hermeneutics in his exegesis of Hebrew Scriptures. In addition, Schoeps stresses appreciating the eschatological outlook of Paul in order to understand elements of his teaching such as his "doctrine" on "justification by faith." For Schoeps, Paul has seriously misunderstood the biblical and Jewish understanding of law and covenant, distorting its meaning so as to create an anti-thesis between faith and law.
While seeking to analysis Paul as an impartial historian, Schoeps also reviews Paul's reception and interpretation throughout the centuries, whether by Christian or Jewish readers, advocating for a contemporary appreciation of Paul which allows for Jews and Christians to accept the argument of two covenants, those of Sinai and Golgotha, both equally valid but separate in the mind of God who turned to Israel at Sinai and to the nations at Golgotha.--Isaac W.
Paul: The Theology of the Apostle in Light of the Jewish Religious History (1961) is the English edition of Paulus: Die Theologie des Apostels im Lichte der jüdischen Religionsgeschichte (1959 Schoeps), book. Translated from the German by Harold Knight.

While seeking to analysis Paul as an impartial historian, Schoeps also reviews Paul's reception and interpretation throughout the centuries, whether by Christian or Jewish readers, advocating for a contemporary appreciation of Paul which allows for Jews and Christians to accept the argument of two covenants, those of Sinai and Golgotha, both equally valid but separate in the mind of God who turned to Israel at Sinai and to the nations at Golgotha.

What is Redaction Criticism? (1969) is a book by Norman Perrin

Abstract
In this book, Perrin offers a useful introduction to the methodology used by certain New Testament scholars known as redaction criticism. Perrin traces the development of this hermeneutic in the aftermath of the Second World War, highlighting its contribution and promises for further elucidation of early "Christian" theology. The work includes some samples of redaction criticism which allows students to learn how to apply this method for their own research.--Isaac W. Oliver
Going against the predominant view, which views Acts as a text penned by a Gentile author who promoted a law-free gospel, Jervell makes a case for the Jewish identity of the author of Luke-Acts and argues that "Luke" affirmed the ongoing significance of Torah praxis (even in its ritual forms) because of the ongoing influential presence of "Christian Jews" within the Jesus movement after 70 C.E.--Isaac W.
Matthew's Christian-Jewish Community (1994) is a book by Anthony J. Saldarini.

Abstract
A fresh and groundbreaking approach to the Gospel of Matthew which views this document just as Jewish as other Jewish texts roughly contemporaneous to the period (2 Baruch, Josephus, early layers of the Mishnah, etc.). Saldarini also engages with social scientific criticism in order to highlight the social context of Matthew's community, a group he sees as still belonging to Judaism albeit as a sect which feels marginalized by the rest of the Jewish society in its regional setting which he tends to locate in Galilee. For Saldarini, the group of "Christian Jews" of the Matthean community were fully Torah observant, practicing not only the ethical aspects of Jewish tradition but also its ritual commandments (Sabbath, circumcision, etc.)--Isaac W. Oliver

Abstract
Sim's thought provoking work builds upon the contributions of Overman and Saldarini, who view the Gospel of Matthew as a Jewish text representative of "Christian Judaism" rather than as a text penned by a community already separated from "Christianity." Most provocative is Sim's thesis that Matthew was written by a Torah observant group which was opposed to Paul's allegedly law-free Gospel. Sim even claims that Matthew did not actively engage in a Gentile mission and that all of the Gentile converts in his community had fully embraced Torah praxis (including circumcision).--Isaac W.
